What is The International Tea Sippers Society?
The International Tea Sippers Society is an opportunity for tea lovers to discover fun, value and the latest trends in the World of Tea.
ITSS was created to help tea lovers of all preference – from those who enjoy a glass of iced tea with meals to the whole-leaf gourmets – to connect directly with tea businesses, and join a network of fellow tea lovers for tea focused travel, tea education and other special events. Who & Why?
Amy Lawrence is the owner of the tearoom, An Afternoon To Remember, in Newcastle, CA. Babette Donaldson is the author of The Emma Lea Books, a series of children’s books created to re-introduce families with young children to tea. We first met in a professional certification class at the Specialty Tea Institute and discovered our common passion for sharing information about the world of tea with more people. The idea for a Tea Sippers Society grew as we realized that there were very few ways in which anyone new to tea could experience what had come to mean so much to us.
When & Where?
The time is now!
Interest in tea is growing rapidly. It is fueled by the medical research on the many benefits of tea. But there’s so much more. Tea is a worldwide experience. We learn a great deal about other cultures as we experience their tea preferences and practices. Tea is bringing us back together with family time. Tea is teaching us to relax and de-stress.
